What we have done for accessibility on bioregen.me, where we stand against WCAG 2.1 AA, and how to tell us about a barrier.
BioRegen exists to give researchers clear, well-organized information about the materials we supply. We want people who use a keyboard, a screen reader, voice control, or other assistive technology to be able to browse the research library, read a product's research notes, and find their way through the site. Accessibility is an ongoing effort, not a one-time fix, and we review and improve these pages on a regular basis.
Concrete steps taken on this site so far:
aria-expanded, aria-label) that works with Tab and Enter or Space, not a mouse-only control. We aim for these pages to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. We have not commissioned an independent, professional accessibility audit or certification of this site, so we are not claiming full or certified WCAG conformance today. We are not using an accessibility overlay or widget as a substitute for fixing the underlying page; the steps above are changes to the pages themselves.
If you use assistive technology and find a page, form, or button on bioregen.me that does not work the way it should, we want to hear about it. Please describe what you were trying to do, the page address, and the device or assistive technology you were using, so we can find and fix the specific problem.
Email [email protected] and describe the issue as above. BioRegen does not publish a phone number or a mailing address.
